This picture holds
a hidden secret
Once you understand it,
you'll never be the same
Take a close look at this picture …
How many solar devices can you spot in this picture?
There are
The first solar device in this picture is obvious, isn't it?
It is the solar panel. This solar panel lights the street lamp. But that's all it does. And, as you'll see in a moment, it isn't even very efficient doing just that.
The second solar device in this picture is the
The tree is a very efficient solar device. It accomplishes a
The tree spontaneously turns its leaves to face the sun so that it harnesses the maximum sunlight from each moment of daylight. The solar panel doesn't. It's stuck in the same position. It only harnesses solar energy for a fraction of the day.
Over time, the tree automatically grows more leaves to harness even more of the sunlight and become even more efficient. The solar panel doesn't. It is incapable of growing.
The tree provides shade for the life around it. The solar panel doesn't
The tree propagates its own species, thus collectively harnessing even more sunlight. The solar panel doesn't. It is incapable of multiplying.
The tree releases oxygen which supports the life around it.
The tree's roots aerate the soil for insects and plants to live.
The tree bears seeds and fruits, which feed the life around it.
The tree adds beauty to its surroundings. The solar panel, meanwhile, mars its surrounding landscape.
Mainstream training is designed just like the solar panel — it is designed to teach you just one thing and it isn't even very efficient doing just that one thing.
If you want to grow
Just focus on becoming a great tree that accomplishes a multitude of outcomes effortlessly — simply because you are that great tree.
Mainstream training focuses on just one thing at a time. For example, leadership
If you continue learning in this way, you'll end up just like the solar panel — inefficient, ineffective, inflexible, incapable of growing … stuck.
Instead, learn to become like the other solar device in the picture. Learn to become a great tree — so that great leadership
Can you afford to
ignore this?
So now you have a decision to make.
You can continue with your age-old habit of learning to be like the solar panel. You can continue with training through mainstream books, courses, seminars or conferences almost all of which focus on teaching you a short list of attributes, making you less and less efficient. In which case, nothing will change. Just as before. You'll keep getting lost on a wild-goose chase. Just like before.
Or … you can step up to the next level. You can start focusing on developing yourself to become more like the tree. In which case, instead of learning just one thing at a time in a very inefficient way, you'll need to focus on the depth of
The choice is yours.
